Stage Set For Ram Gopal Varma’s Arrest?

Hyderabad: The stage is set for maverick director Ram Gopal Varma's arrest.

Atleast, it appears so after noted social activist Devi lodged a police complaint that the director made unpleasant comments on her during a TV interview. In the follow-up to that complaint, the police are said to have gathered enough evidence to formally arrest the director. She had also stated in her complaint that the director threatened those who planned to block his film "God, Sex and Truth".

Cases were registered against Ram Gopal Varma under IT Act 67 and IPC sections 508 and 509. In another TV discussion, Devi stated that Varma is objectifying women and is a bad influence on the society. Following her statements, Varma retorted that, "Devi does not represent all sections of the society."
