Telangana Girl Scripts History, Offered Highest Package At IIT

Bhubaneswar: Telangana girl Likhita Sharma, studying in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has created a record by getting paid the highest annual package of Rs 39 lakhs since the inception of the institution in 2012. Last year, a boy was offered a package of Rs 34 lakhs, while in 2016 it was Rs 38 lakh to another boy.

Adobe offered the package to Likhita and the company’s director RV Rajakumar confirmed it. The ecstatic girl who couldn’t contain her happiness told she is over the moon on knowing that this is highest ever salary offered to anyone who have studied in IIT Bhubaneswar till date. Graduating this year, she would pass BTech in computer science and engineering. She has two younger siblings and one of them is studying medicine.

Meanwhile, four other students, including a girl, have been offered annual package of Rs 31.5 lakh. The administration said that only meagre number of girls, 9 per cent, are studying at IIT Bhubaneswar. It is learnt that the campus selections will continue till the end of March.
