Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has met union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday to seek release of the funds for the development of the state. He also requested Jaitley to allot funds for building IIM and AIIMS and informed him that the state has already allocated land for the construction of AIIMS.

The chief minister also submitted a memorandum to release Rs 450 crores for the backward districts in Telangana to fulfil the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act. As the financial year is coming to an end, he also pleaded Jaitley to sanction the yearly funds to the state for the financial year 2017-18

After meeting the union minister, KCR has sought an appointment to meet the prime minister Narendra Modi, informed the sources. Since the prime minister was busy with the poll campaign of the three states Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland, KCR was not given appointment.
