Sakshi Rating:

Actor Suhas rose to fame with the movie Color Photo which became an sensation on OTT. His last film Writer Padmabhushan also did decent business at the box office. Now, Suhas is back with Ambajipeta Marriage Band. Here’s the review of the film.

Plot: The film set in 2007. Venkat (Nithiin Prasanna) is a wealthy person in his village Ambajipeta. Everyone in village takes money from him for interest. Malli (Suhas) is a barber who also works for a marriage band. His elder sister Padma (Saranya Pradeep) works as a school teacher in the same town. The village people spread the rumor that Padma has an affair with Venkat. Malli falls in love with Venkat’s sister Lakshmi (Shivani Nagaram).

What happens to their love story in the eventual course of the film and how a rivalry takes shape between Malli and Venkat forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

Suhas carries the whole film on his shoulders. He not only nailed it but also made us cry and laugh with his performance. Suhas fits the bill perfectly. Newcomer Shivani looks good and gives a neat performance.

One should appreciate Nithin Prasanna for accepting this kind of role. He did a fantastic job. Jagdish of Pushpa fame got a meaty role. He gave his best in the film. Goparaju Ramana and others are good.

Analysis:

The film is presented by Venkatesh Maha of Care Of Kancharapalem fame. Director Dushyanth's sensibilities are attuned to the presenter's rare sensibilities and creativity. In recent times, we have seen village-based films that are raw and real. The film under review falls into that category.

The first half is mostly entertaining with an excellent rom-com track. The love blossoms between Malli and Lakhsmi in a very believable manner. The second half becomes intense because of what happens in the interval block.

Geetha Arts must be appreciated for supporting a movie of this level. At a time when the banner is doing Thandel, Ambajipeta Marriage Band adds a texture to its filmography.

Merits:

Good emotional scenes.
The climax.
Performances.
Songs.

Demerits:

Predictable in some places.

Verdict: Ambajipeta Marriage Band is an emotional film that everyone will love.
