Geetanjali Malli Vachindi Movie Review
Sakshi Rating:

'Geethanjali Malli Vachindi' is the latest horror-comedy in the town. It is written and presented by Kona Venkat. MVV Cinema and Kona Film Corporation have produced this movie.

Story:

Many years ago, a lecherous man (Rao Ramesh) tried to harm Geethanjali (Anjali), whose twin sister is now in trouble. The twin sister is also played by actress Anjali. She runs a coffee shop in Ooty, where a team of actors and writers (portrayed by Satya, Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar and Satyam Rajesh) reach with the aim of making a blockbuster horror-comedy. The incidents in the script bear resemblance to certain real-life persons. The film is being shot in Sangeet Mahal, where a series of mysterious murders have taken place in the past.

What haunts the Mahal? Why is a horror-comedy being made there? Is it a trap? Is it a mystery? Are Anjali and others in danger?

Performances:

Everyone in the film is sincere with respect to their performances. They understand their briefs and enact their parts accordingly. Satya and Sunil are among the most rib-tickling artists in the film. After a long time, the likes of Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh, Shakalaka Shankar, Ravi Shankar and Ali have played non-lead roles and they are quite comfortable in their space.

Plus Points:

Hilarious episodes in Sangeet Mahal. Many artists have been handled well by the director.

A twist related to a key character.

The film-within-film episodes involving all major characters.

The possessed doll and Ali's travails with it.

Pravin Lakkaraju's background score.

The visual effects

Minus Points:

The climax could have been better.

Analysis:

'Geethanjali', which was released in 2014, offered a new spin to the horror-comedy genre. Ten years later, its sequel is worth the wait. The trailer of the movie made it clear that the audience shouldn't expect anything more than timepass. The sequel offers some cogent scenes and it relies on very talented comedians for good.

The scene shifts from Vizag to Hyderabad and then to Ooty. Artists like Goparaju Ramana have played bit roles. Dil Raju and writer BVS Ravi are seen in cameos.

There is no place for melodrama in this film. There is a little dose of sentiment in the climax.

Verdict:

'Geethanjali Malli Vachindi' has been released this Summer to offer plenty of laughs. Featuring more than half a dozen comedians, this horror-comedy makes for a good time pass watch. Don't bother about logic and all. Just watch it for its comedy quotient!
