Vijay Deverakonda's Family Star was released in theatres with huge expectations. The film is directed by Parasuram. Here's the review of the film.

Plot: Govardhan (Vijay Deverakonda) is an architect who works hard to meet the needs of his joint family. He always support his brothers, their wives and their kids.

Indu (Mrunal Thakur) enters his life as a tenant. He falls in love with her but he ditches her when he learns that she got close to him with a motive in mind. Govardhan plans to take avenge the betrayal. In this attempt, he joins the MNC where Indu works. The rest of the film is about how the duo make peace with each other.

Performances:

Vijay Deverakonda excels in his role as a middle-class man who abides by values. Mrunal Thakur looks decent, but she failed to create magic on the silver screen; she was a showstelar in her previous films. The rest of the cast and crew gave their best. Vennela Kishore, Rohini Hattangadi, Ravi Prakash, Vasuki, Abhinaya and others play different roles.

Analysis:

Dil Raju and Shirish have produced this movie. For the former, the release date (April 5) holds a sentimental value. It was on this day in 2003 that 'Dil' was released.

Family Star, however, is not the film Sri Venkateswara Creations deserved. The nature of conflict in the story is such that there is a confusion about where the audience must focus. Is it the family troubles? Or, is it the ego problems between Govardhan and Indu?

The narration is weak because the film loses its focus rather fast. The comedy is feeble. The situations created around the clash between Govardhan and Indu are artificial.

Verdict: Watch it at your own risk. Outdated and annoying this film is!
