Among these five contenders, two are said to be selected for the Ministerial posts.

Hyderabad: With Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announcing in the Assembly that two women ministers will be inducted into the Telangana Cabinet, speculation has begun regarding the contenders.

From TRS, M Padma Devender Reddy (Medak), Gongidi Sunitha (Alair) and Ajmera Rekha Naik (Khanapur) were elected as MLAs. MLC Akula Lalitha recently joined TRS. In the biennial elections to the MLC seats to be held on March 12, Satyavati Rathod is among the candidates who has been selected by TRS. Among these five contenders, two are expected to be selected for the Ministerial posts.

Padma Devender Reddy, who worked as a deputy speaker in the previous government, is hoping for a cabinet post. If not inducted, she expects to be selected for the next Cabinet expansion.

The Government Whip of the previous government, Gongidi Sunita is also expecting a Ministerial post. On the other hand, none of them from Munnuru Kapu, the main community of BCs, found a place in the Cabinet. In this regard, MLC Akula Anitha, who belongs to this quota, is expecting a post.

Satyavati Rathod lost the Assembly seat to Congress candidate Redya Nayak from Dornakal in the 2014 elections. After Redya Nayak joined the TRS, Satyavati Rathod continued in the TRS party as the state general secretary. Speculation is rife that she was assured a Cabinet post at the time of her joining the TRS in 2014.

Telangana has 17 posts for the Ministers. Apart from Chief Minister KCR, there are currently 11 Ministers. Among those, ST category and women didn't secure seats. If Satyavati Rathod is offered as a minister, the two quotas will be filled. The TRS sources are assessing the possibility of Satyavati Rathod becoming a Minister in this context. On the other hand, Adilabad Joint District bagged two ministerial posts in the last government. In this context, Khanapur MLA Rekha Naik believes that she will have a chance in the next expansion.
