Eluru: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) worker Kamireddy Venkata Narasimha Rao alias Kamireddy Nani who was arrested for allegedly sharing the video clipping of Dendaluru Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Chintamaneni Prabahkar , where the MLA was seen abusing Dalits in a Janmabhoomi public meeting , was granted bail yesterday.

Speaking to the media after his release , Kamireddy said that he was not afraid of any threats or false cases imposed on him and that he would further work to intensify the protests against the TDP MLA and would ensure the MLA's defeat in the upcoming elections and rout him out from Dendaluru.

Kamireddy was recently married ( last Friday) and on Saturday his reception was held in Sriramavaram in Dendaluru mandal. On the night of his reception the newly-wedded Kamireddy was arrested and taken to the Eluru Three Town Police station . Getting to know of the news YSRCP workers, party leaders and women folk reached the police station in large numbers. They protested in front of the police station demanding that Kamireddy be released. They said that instead of arresting the TDP MLA for his derogatory remarks against the Dalits , the TDP leaders and police are arresting innocent people.Apparently the cases were filed at the behest of Chintamaneni Prabhakar under instructions from the TDP higher-ups.

Till date no case has been filed against the Dendaluru TDP MLA for his controversial statements against the Dalits and instead the irony was that the Police foisted cases on Kamireddy under Section 505 (2) read with Section 34 which says that making statements that create or promote enmity, hatred or ill will between different classes of society is a punishable offence and also under Section 153 which is reads as wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot.
