Suryapet: In a shocking incident, a man attacked his parents with an axe for not being served his share of chicken curry.

The incident occurred in Jajireddygudem village of the district on Friday night. According to the police, the couple Bhanothu Tharayya and Somili have two sons and three daughters. Their elder son Bhanothu Srinu, who got married in 2012, was divorced by his wife due to his eccentric behavior. Since then he has been staying with his parents in the village without a job. On Friday evening, his younger brother visited his parents in Jajireddygudem along with his wife. During the dinner, Srinu got infuriated after he was served with less quantity of chicken curry.

Srinu started arguing with his mother and father Tharayya over the chicken curry. After dinner, Srini's brother and the latter's wife were taking rest in the house while his father and mother were sleeping outside their house. Raging with anger over the dinner incident, Srini attacked his father with an axe. Noticing it, Somili, who attempted to save her husband from Srinu, suffered injury on the head. Srinu fled from the scene. Both the injured were rushed to the hospital. Somili's condition is said to be critical.

Police arrested Srinu and sent him to remand.
