Jr. NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan-starrer and this year's much-awaited movie Devara postponed its release date to the second half of 2024. The film was originally scheduled for Eid release. Koratala Siva's directorial ‘Devara Part-1’ got an astounding response after the makers released its teaser on January 8, 2024.

The highly anticipated action thriller is facing major setbacks at the final production stage. According to sources, the production delay is caused due to incomplete work of VFX. Devara’s filmmakers are making sure that it will be a visual spectacle for the audience.

The other contributing factor for the delay in the film’s release is that Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and the film's antagonist is indisposed and recently underwent surgery for the tricep injury at Mumbai Kokilaben Hospital. Initially, the shooting schedule was supposed to be completed in 20 days, but now it's been paused till the time Saif gets fully recovered.

One of the reasons for the delay can be attributed to the clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘Bade Miya Chhote Miya’ movie which is also scheduled for release on Eid along with Jr NTR’s Devara.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan is also supposed to be released on the same date. Therefore, the film makers are considering to postpone Devara’s release further to ensure the wide release across the theatres in the Hindi belt. As part of YRF’s Spy Universe, Jr NTR has been cast alongside Hrithik Roshan in ‘War 2’ movie.
