Buying sand has never been this easier ever. You can now order the sand online and get a door delivery. All you have to do is make a sand booking on the web portal - andhrasand or through the ‘andhrasand’ mobile app. When you make an online payment, a challan is generated. Sit back and relax, the sand order will be delivered at your doorstep.
Earlier, people who were constructing new houses and complexes would buy the sand in an offline mode. The AP government has authorised the digital assistants working in the Village and Ward Secretariats to sell the sand online. As the middle-men were making easy money in the offline sand selling, the government decided to make the process more transparent through the online sales.
Buying sand online? Remember these points :
Individual consumers can do the sand booking with their mobile number and for bulk orders, you need a mobile number, e-mail ID, PAN and GST number.
You can make the payment using Debit, Credit, Net Banking and UPI systems.
Once the sand is loaded in the truck, the GPS location of the vehicle is shared with the customer who could keep a track of his/her delivery. For tracking, you can use the web portal, mobile app or call the customer care representative.

Same day delivery
Presently, the sand selling is taking place from 147 depots and 215 sand reaches in Andhra Pradesh. Sources say 1 crore cubic metre sand is sold daily in the state. Earlier after the booking for sand, it would take 2-3 days for delivery. Now, it will be a same day delivery. To bring in transparency in the sand purchase process, the local administrations would display the sand tariff across the constituencies through posters and banners outside the sand depots and sand reaches.
Zero tolerance for black marketing:
To make the sand available to all the people at affordable prices and curb the growing activities of the sand mafia, the state government is providing both the online and offline options. VG Venkat Reddy , the director of AP Mineral Development Corporation said the online mode is introduced to discourage the middlemen. He said black marketing of sand will not be tolerated. Buyers are free to order sand from any sand depot or sand reach in the state, the official concluded.
