Hyderabad Metro project creates record

Hyderabad metro rail project created a rare record. A record 1000 viaduct spans were completed just in 20 months.

It is a record in the Indian construction history. With the completion of 100 spans, as much as 27 km of metro rail route has been completed till now.

Hyderabad metro rail was planned in three corridors in a length of 72 kms.

The first viaduct was started in December 2012 at Habsiguda.

The 1000th viaduct span was completed its construction near S.R.Nagar bus stop on Sunday.

This shows that the Metro project has been going on faster in Hyderabad in comparision to cities like Mumbai, Delhi,Chennai and Bangalore.

“It took seven years to complete 11 km of metro route in Mumbai and five years to complete 25 km of metro track in Chennai and Bangalore,” said MD of Hyderabad metro rail N.V.S.Reddy.

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao complimented the HMR and Engineers of L&T for creating the record in the construction of the prestigious project.
