Palasa TDP MLA Candidate’s Husband Manhandles Election Officer

Srikakulam: Venkanna Chowdary, the husband of the TDP candidate from Palasa assembly constituency in Srikakulam district, Gouthu Sirisha, allegedly assaulted the Election Observer Dr. Nagaraju, after the Flying Squad of the Election Commission caught him with dummy EVMs.

When the officer tried to seize the dummy EVMs, the candidate's husband is said to have abused him leading to an argument between the two.

A furious Venkanna Chowdary reportedly assaulted the officer. He is also said to have told the officer on election duty that he could go and complain to any higher authority he wanted. Venkanna allegedly showered the officer with unparliamentary language. The Palasa TDP MLA candidate's husband is later said to have fled the place in his vehicle.
