YSRCP demands CBI probe into Amaravati land deals

Hyderabad, March 6: YSR Congress has derided the TDP government for its commercial attitude and threatening the media for exposing its shady land deals in the Andhra Pradesh capital area.

‘We take strong objection to the remarks of Chandrababu Naidu about the exposure and demand that he should volunteer for a CBI probe into the incident,’ party leaders G Srikanth Reddy and A Ramakrishna Reddy told reporters here on Sunday. There is enough proof to establish that the TDP coterie had misused their prior information about the capital region and had purchased land in the peripheries at throwaway prices and had a windfall which would have otherwise benefitted the farmers.

The land was forcibly taken away from the farmers by using all methods, including force and poor Dalits were alienated from the land which was in their possession for generations together.

They have harassed farmers who refused to give land and TDP coterie stands to gain out of the land pooling as the Expert Committee set up by the Centre was set aside and the State has set up its own committee only to pass on the benefits to the TDP leaders, they said and demanded a CBI inquiry into the land deals and asked the government to shun its vindictive attitude.
