Wordy duel over YSR in AP Assembly

"I was not provoked even after i was tagged with several allegations. I remained calm even when they called me a murderer. If YSRCP leaders level same allegations against Chandrababu, would the former keep quiet?. They are continuously slinging mud on me. Their words have to be removed from the records. If they take back their words, I will also do it," YS Jagan said.

Proceedings in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly came to a halt for the fourth day on Friday over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. The opposition YSR Congress Party and the ruling Telugu Desam Party sparred over the issue 'political murders'.

Leader of the opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy insisted that house must discuss the attacks on his party members in the last three months. The YSRCP members alleged that large-scale political murders were taking place at the behest of the ruling party and that no culprit has been punished so far. The ruling party members instead launched attacks on the YSR's family leveling several allegations. The TDP MLAs tired to provoke the YSRCP members by continuously accusing YSR's family and by deliberately linking it with murders.

YS Jagan sharply reacted the TDP's allegation which led to an intense verbal duel between the members of the TDP and the YSRC. The ruling party members went to the speaker's podium and demanded an apology from YS Jagan. Amid the ruckus, the house adjourned for 10 minutes.
An unyielding YS Jagan told mediapersons that it was the TDP leaders who called his partymen smugglers, rowdies and 'nara roopa rakshasulu' (demons in human form).
"I was not provoked even after i was tagged with several allegations. I remained calm even when they called me a murderer. If YSRCP leaders level same allegations against Chandrababu, would the former keep quiet?. They are continuously slinging mud on me. Their words have to be removed from the records. If they take back their words, I will also do it," Jagan said.
When the House reassembled after a 10-minute break, noisy scenes continued, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings for tomorrow.
