Who will gain from Naidu's walkathon?

Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be the biggest beneficiary of his padayatra which has all the makings of a political dud.

No leader in the country has ever walked 2,345 km in just 117 days. But Naidu claims it is possible. For someone who has a habit of making tall claims, this is indeed a small claim. Naidu is the archetypal politician who thinks that the common masses can be led along to believe anything he says or does. Whether his padayatra does anyone any good is a matter of conjecture, but one thing is for certain—Naidu will benefit immensely from his grueling regimen.

Consider the facts. Naidu is 63 years old and needs to cover 2,345 km in just 117 days. He claims he is doing this just for the sake of people, to go and learn about their problems. Does that need any repetition? Naidu says he has overridden medical advice for the sake of the suffering masses. Well, well, how desperate does one get. Such is the lust for power in a 63 year-old that he will try to imitate the inimitable Dr. YSR (who needed no acting lessons to reach out to his people) in his hunger to grab power at any cost.

How does one explain the absence of fatigue in Naidu in the context of his exacting padayatra?

 Whenever he gets tired, the air-conditioned bus which was specially designed in Mumbai, is kept ready at the spot . The luxurious bus has a dining table, bedroom, bathroom, hall, television and and an internet connection.

Naidu sleeps, eats, showers and rests in the luxury of his bus, while indulging in tokenism (padayatra) now and then. He simply cannot dream of having a meal with the commoners unless of course, it is a photo-op.

His son Lokesh is also with him, while a smaller bus serves as a pantry car with an experienced chef.

That Naidu has taken tips from film writers and directors on body lanaguage and dialogue delivery has been widely publicized. Naidu seems to be putting the directors' lessons to good use. His dramatic facial expressons and also diolaogue delivery especially when he refers to the YSR Congress Party is evident.
The key to Naidu's fitness is his diet, which includes healthy food which has all the vitamins like Ragisangti along with dal.
Fruit juices, butter milk, tulasi leaves and mineral water are other elements, which are a must as far as Naidu is concerned. By the time he is done with his walkathon Naidu will be fit as a fiddle, if nothing else.
