Parties reacted on predictable lines after the Supreme Court's decision to revive conspiracy changes against key BJP leaders in the demolition of disputed structure at Ayodhya in 1992. Here are the responses of various parties on the issue:

Book Kalyan Singh Too: IUML

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court decision to revive conspiracy charges against senior BJP leaders L.K. Advani and others in the Babri Masjid demolition case, and demanded that Kalyan Singh and Uma Bharti should resign their posts and face trial. IUML General Secretary and Lok Sabha member ET Mohammed Basheer said the verdict is a huge relief. "Our demand is that Kalyan Singh, presently a Governor, should not cling on technicalities by speaking of immunity, and resign from that post and face the trial. Likewise, Union Minister Uma Bharti should step down without any more delay," he said.

Grand Ram Temple Is My Dream: Uma

BJP leader Uma Bharti said she would not resign as Union Minister and that the charges of conspiracy in the Babri Masjid demolition case have not yet been proven against her. "I am not one of those who is greedy for power. I resigned as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after a case was registered against me in the Tiranga (national flag) case," she said. She also refuted any conspiracy behind the 1992 demolition of the Babri mosque. "There was no conspiracy. Everything was open. The question of conspiracy does not arise," she said."Grand Ram temple in Ayodhya is my dream. Ready to go to prison or be hanged for India and Ram Mandir," she said.

Plot To Keep Advani Out Of Prez Race: Lalu

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad said the revival of conspiracy charges in the Babri demolition case was a "well-planned political conspiracy" to keep L.K. Advani away from being nominated as the next President. "CBI is an arm of the government, it says what the government wants it to say. It is a well-planned political conspiracy," Yadav said. "We were hearing that L.K. Advani may become the next President. Now no will even talk about nominating him," he said.
