Fearing defeat in the elections next week, opposition TDP leaders are allegedly resorting to unethical tactics. Reports suggest that employees attending postal ballot voting are being improperly influenced by them. 

The postal ballot voting process for government employees across the state began on Sunday and will continue until May 10 in places identified by the Election Commission. On the first day, personnel from the police department, government employees, and teachers visited designated facilitation centers in various areas to cast their votes. However, leaders of the opposition party are alleged to have tried to sway voters through undue means, including offering monetary incentives near polling booths. 

A few leaders, who had worked as former union leaders during the previous regime, made threatening calls to the postal ballot voters. government employees. In certain instances, even polling officials and police personnel were intimidated by them. 

At polling stations located in Telugu and English medium schools affiliated with Andhra University, followers of the opposition party's MLA candidates Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao created a ruckus in front of the polling station. Velagapudi's followers Kalla Shankar, TDP leader Pothanna Reddy and former corporator Botta Venkata Ramana directly campaigned for the party’s Undi candidate. They also tried to distribute money to lure voters through  Google Pay and PhonePe like digital payment platforms..

At Pulivendula in YSR district, certain TDP leaders Akkulugari Vijay Kumar Reddy, Darbar Basha and Anjugattu Ravi Teja Reddy assaulted a polling training officer named Sangam Maheswara Reddy. According to reports, the officer faced verbal abuse and was physically pushed out of the premises. The police personnel present at the location had to intervene to resolve the dispute.
