TRS Wins Warangal MLC Unanimously

Hyderabad: Continuing its winning spree, ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on Thursday bagged its first seat in the ongoing local body MLC elections on Thursday.The Warangal TRS candidate, former MLC, Konda Murali has been declared elected unanimously from Warangal with all other candidates in the fray withdrew their nominations. There were five independent candidates and the opposition Congress or TDP-BJP combine opted out of the fray as they do not have sufficient votes even if they contest. A former Warangal DCCB chairman, Konda Murali is the husband of former minister Konda Surekha, both of whom joined TRS last year.      

The TRS is expecting similar wins in most of the 12 seats where elections are scheduled for 27 December. The elections will be held for Telangana Legislative Council from Local Authorities Constituencies of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Khammam.
