TRS Captures Warangal LS Seat with Record Majority

Pasunuri Dayakar Breaks All Records in TS

Fifth highest majority in the country

Far higher than Kadiyam and KCR

Congress, BJP-TDP Lose Deposits

Warangal: TRS candidate Pasunuri Dayakar broke all records in Telangana state exceeding the majority of the previous MP of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency Kadiyam Srihari. This is a record majority in a Lok Sabha election in Telangana state. With over 6,04,021 votes in his favor, Dayakar got a majority of 4,50,104 which is far higher than the majority of 3,92,574 secured by his predecessor Srihari in 2014 general elections.

Dayakar's majority even exceeded the majority security by his party president KCR in 2014 election from Medak Lok Sabha constituency which was 3,97,027.

The result of the Warangal Lok Sabha by-election was one-sided for the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) right from the opening of the ballot machines for counting. The TRS candidate Pasuruni Dayakar got a clear and huge majority ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 in each of the seven Assembly segments in the constituency. Though TRS had been confident about its victory in the by-poll, none of its leaders including chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ever claimed that they will exceed the previous majority of 3.92 lakhs secured by Kadiyam Srihari in 2014 general elections.

Surprisingly, both the major opposition parties lost their deposits along with 20 other candidates including Communists, YSRCP and independents. Congress which secured 22.91 percent with 2,69,065 votes in 2014 general election has put up a poor show this time with only 1,54,998 votes and BJP-TDP combine could get 1,29,118. YSRCP has bettered its tally with 23,222 votes.
