Traffic Restrictions In Khairatabad During Ganesh Festival

Traffic curbs has been imposed in several places including Khairatabad due to the Ganesh festival in the city.

Hyderabad: During the 9-day long Ganesh festival, traffic movement will be restricted in Khairatabad and some other areas in the city to ensure smooth traffic movement. The festivities will begin on September 5.

Traffic from Mint Compound Lane and Necklace Road will not be allowed towards Khairatabad Library and will be diverted at Government Printing Press, Khairatabad.

Traffic coming from Rajiv Gandhi statue will not be allowed towards Khairatabad Library and will be diverted towards Nirankari Bhavan. Also traffic from Rajdoot Hotel lane and Khairatabad market bylane will not be allowed towards Khairatabad Library beyond sanitary ward office.

Power Supply to Pandals

Meanwhile, the officials of Power Distributing Company of Telangana State said that the Discom would supply power connections to the Ganesh pandals in the city on payment of money in advance.

The Discom officials advised the organisers of pandals to take all the possible precautionary steps and security measures during the festivities.

For 250 watts power connection, Rs. 500 will be charged and Rs. 1000 for 250-500 watt power, Rs. 1,500 for more than 500 watts connection, the officials said. Rs. 750 will be charged for every additional 500 W thereafter. Metered power supply can also be provided for pandals if sought, they said.

The Discom officials advised the organisers of pandals to take all the possible precautionary steps and security measures during the festivities.
