Thousands of Couples to Tie the Knot in City on August 10, 21

Hyderabad:  After a break due to Ashadam, this moth is going to witness thousands of wedding ceremonies in the city from this weekend as ‘Sravana masam’ (fifth month of Telugu almanac) began. Telugu people are busy in preparations for marriage ceremonies in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.

Purohits and astrologers say, since April 29, there had been no muhurthams for marriages and moreover there will be no auspicious moments after the end of the month of August. As the effect of this, a huge number of wedlocks will take place in this month. Those, who had already done with engagements, are busy in preparations for the weddings.

Marriage ceremonies were put on a hold during the Ashada Masam which ended last week. After ‘Vaisakha masam’ muhurthams culminated in April, city is going to witness thousands of marriages scheduled on 10, 21 and 28 of this month as the best muhurathams are falling on these days.

Purohits (priests), wedding halls, photographers, cooks, music band troupes and decoration departments are in full demand in the city. According to a source, each priest is booked with at least three to ten weddings in this month. Some are opting for community halls and temples to officiate marriages as the wedding halls have been shortfall.
