The GO facilitates local status to employees children in education and job sector

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has passed a GO on Monday which accords local status to the children of employees who will be relocating to the new capital Amaravati soon.

President of the AP Secretariat Employees Association Muralikrishna said that, “The news comes as a great relief to the employees,” adding, the employees can readily shift to the new capital once the construction is completed.

Chief secretary S P Tucker said that they are hopeful of finishing construction work soon and making the secretariat to fully function by the end of September.

It is estimated that nearly 2,000 employees from secretariat will be shifting to Amaravati soon.
