Tribal Schools In Telangana Secure 506 JEE Qualifications

Hyderabad: In a first, Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Societies scripted history after 506 students cracked the JEE Mains 2019, thus qualifying for JEE Advanced 2019, which will be held in May.

Of the 506 students, 307 belonged to Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TSWREIs) and while 199 are from Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TTWREIs). Of these students, 22 social welfare and 13 tribal welfare students qualified in the open category.

Run by the state government, these institutions are residential colleges providing education to underprivileged students hailing from the SC and ST communities.

Among these students, Rajnikesh Vardhan from Gowlidoddi, secured 203 marks out of 360 with 98.41 percentile while Korra Mahesh from Rajendra Nagar, clinched all India 410 rank with 95.3 percentile in the ST category. Azmeera Mahesh of Rajendra Nagar bagged all India 486 rank with L Tejaswini and K Priyason scoring 93.4 and 93.62 percentile respectively.
