Yadadri: A young couple met with a road accident on their way to Yadadri on Friday evening. While the woman succumbed to death on the spot, her boyfriend escaped with minor injuries.

As per the details of the incident, the couple got introduced to each other on Facebook. The victim, Aruna (19), pursuing BSc second-year befriended Srikanth on the social networking platform.

Later, the couple got into a relationship and decided to marry. They started their journey to Yadadri on a motorbike on Friday. However, they met with an accident after Srikanth lost control of the bike resulting in both of them falling off the vehicle. Aruna was crushed under wheels of a car coming from the opposite direction and died on the spot.

Srikanth sustained minor injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. According to the police, Aruna hails from Chintaguda in Jinnaram of Mancherial district and Srikanth is a native of Baswapur village in Koheda mandal of Siddipet district. Police shifted the body of the deceased to hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered and the police are investigating.
