EC Releases Legislative Council Election Schedule

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday released the schedule for holding biennial elections for the 10 legislative seats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Elections will be held on March 12 this year. The term of five MLAs in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh each will be expiring on March 29 this year. Keeping this in regard, the latest election schedule has been released.

The MLAs from Andhra Pradesh are P Narayana, A Laxmi Siva Kumari, P Samanthakamani, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Adi Reddy Apparao and from Telangana, the MLAs are Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Shabeer Ali, T Santosh Kumar, Mohammad Salim and Mahmood Ali.

Election schedule:

Issue of Notification - 21st February, 2019

Last date for nominations - 28th February, 2019

Scrutiny of nominations - 1st March, 2019

Last date for withdrawal of candidatures - 5th March, 2019

Polling Date - 12th March, 2019

Polling Hours - 9 am to 4 pm.

Counting of Votes - 12th March, 2019 from 5 pm.
