Mastermind And Two Others Behind Terrorist Attack Killed In Encounter

Pulwama: Four Army personnel including a major were martyred in an encounter just days after the attack that killed 40 CRPF Jawans. On the receiving end of the encounter were two people with Jaish-e-Mohammed. It is said that the mastermind behind the Feb 14 attack Kamran Alias Fahad. He was killed in the encounter along with two more important commanders Gazi alias Rashid alias Lukaman and Hilal Ahemad of the JeM. Security forces had them cornered in the encounter that took place in the wee hours of Monday.

A joint team of Indian Army's 55 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Special Operation Group launched a cordon in the wee hours on Monday.

The cordon was laid in the area after reliable sources had given inputs of a possible presence of militants.

Two civilians were also killed during the encounter. They were the owners of the house where the terrorists were reportedly holed up. Four weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site. Four houses including the one which the terrorists were holed up, caught fire and was damaged in the encounter.
