Hyderabad: Preparations for Telangana Bhavan in Karnataka got a boost. Karnataka government issues a directive for the establishment of the building, as an outcome of the fruitful efforts of the Kannada Rastra Telangana Association (KRTA). Karnataka Chief Secretary sends a directive to Bengaluru's Tehsildars to allocate one acre land for Telangana Bhavan and make preparation for a detailed project report (DPR). Karnataka Deputy Commissioner has also given directives to the District Collector's office on the matter. KRTA Founder & President Sundeep Kumar Makthala expressed happiness over the milestone.

KRTA has been taking several measures for the welfare of people from Telangana living in Karnataka State. The association has met representatives of BJP, Congress and JDS and submitted the proposal to create Telangana Bhavan. When KRTA met former Prime Minister and Janata Dal Secular, party Chief Deve Gowda assured support to the creation of Telangana Bhavan and also promised the inclusion of the same in the party’s manifesto during the elections. Following the polls, when JDS chief H D Kumaraswamy became the Chief Minister, he took a favorable decision for the establishment of the building.

Upon receiving the approval for the proposal, Karnataka State Chief Secretary sent a directive to south Bengaluru, north Bengaluru and Anekal Taluka Tehsildars to scout for a suitable one acre land, prepare DPR and to take suggestions and inputs from KRTA President Sundeep Kumar Makthala. Following this development, the State officials have begun the process in that direction.

While inclusion of the proposal in the party manifesto during the Karnataka State elections was one accomplishment, and now the State directive to take further steps for the creation of Telangana Bhavan is another milestone, expressed Sundeep Kumar Makthala. He expressed his gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Deve Gowda and Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy for making this happen. Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s meeting with Deve Gowda gave a boost to the efforts to create the building.

Sundeep Kumar Makthala said Telangana people were struggling to get a proper place to celebrate State festivals such as Bonalu and Bathukamma and hold other programmes. From there, all the efforts made towards the Telangana Bhavan has placed it in a state, where one acre is being allotted for the creation of a dedicated building for Telangana. Makthala said Telangana and Karnataka share cultural ties since the 9th century. The poet Pampana who took birth in Bodhan of Telangana has brought a name for his poetical works in Kannada. In remembrance of him, the proposed building will be named as ‘Pampana Telangana Bhavan’.

When people go for IT jobs and higher education, they often miss the region and their people. Realizing this, Telangana Bhavan was conceptualized to create a home-like environment in Bengaluru for all those hailing from Telangana, Sundeep Kumar Makthala said. The building could also come to rescue to people who are new to Bengaluru and those who are seeking temporary stay in the city. The building will also have a library and a town hall besides other amenities. The building will be created in a way that it will meet all the requirements of any large scale celebration that could be hosted at the venue during Bonalu, Bathukamma and Telangana State Formation Day.

KRTA will begin its consultation with the Karnataka officials in establishing the building from this week onwards. Those from Telangana can share their suggestions for effective creation and utilization of Telangana Bhavan. Such feedback can be sent to krtaoffcial@gmail.com.
