Hyderabad: TRS Parliamentary Party leader K. Kesava Rao on Monday congratulated Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) for his firm stand on not to privatize TSRTC and welcomed his decision not to merge RTC in government.

In a statement, Mr. Kesava Rao said that it is painful that two of the RTC employees-Srinivasa Reddy in Khammam and Surender Goud in Karwan area of Hyderabad have committed suicide. He further added that suicides will not solve any problems and appealed to the RTC employees to come for a dialogue with the government without further delay.

Mr. Rao recalled that KCR government has settled all the issues pertaining to RTC employees in the past by giving 44 percent fitment and 16 percent interim relief. He added that government has never stated that it will merge RTC in government and at the same time not included the issue in TRS manifesto, which was drafted by him and other members. He told that demanding the merger of RTC into government is nothing but asking the state government to change its’ stand on certain principles. Mr. Rao also emphasized that it is not fair on the part of the employees or opposition to demand for changing stand of the government often.

However, Mr. Rao appealed to the government to address the demands of the employees, except merger. He asked the employees that the decision to run private buses and stage carriages is a temporary measure taken by the government in view of the ongoing strike.
