The Ramagundam assembly constituency in the undivided Karimnagar district was represented in the recently dissolved Telangana Assembly by the TRS's Somarapu Satyanarayana. With a 1,81,177 voter count, it was a close contest between the TRS and Forward Block candidate Korukanti Chander, who lost by just 2,295 votes in 2014. In the upcoming Assembly elections, it is expected that Somarapu Satyanarayana will test his luck against the Congress's MS Raj Thakur. Earlier, Ramagundam fell under the Medaram (SC) constituency.

The Dharmapuri (SC) assembly constituency in the undivided Karimnagar district was represented in the recently dissolved Telangana Assembly by senior TRS leader Koppula Eshwar.
