SBI Not Harsh On Displaced Farmers: Minister 

The Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday said SBI is not adopting harsh policy towards any displaced or farmers of any backward areas in the country. The policy is uniform throughout the country with specific dispensations for specific backward areas but strictly non-discriminatory. The policy is uniform for all the farmers throughout the country, the Minister stated in a reply to the question asked by YSRCP Rajya Sabha Member V. Vijayasai Reddy.

The policy for financing/ OTS towards farmers and students is uniform for all the parts of the country. Review is done periodically keeping in view the new challenges faced by the farmers, the Minister said while clarifying on the reasons for the SBI adopting a very harsh policy towards displaced farmers and people in large numbers at Polavaram and other such backward areas of Andhra Pradesh.
