Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a group of New Year revellers thrashed two young men from north-east India here in the city. The incident occurred on new year's eve at Indira Nagar. The video went viral on social media a few days ago.

It all started when three persons of north-east origin, including a woman, were about to pass through a street in the locality with full of revellers dancing and partying on road.

When the biker suddenly stopped near the mob, the bike gently brushed past a person. Immediately, two men started raining blows on all three of them. The woman also suffered a blow from behind. She immediately got off the bike and scurried to safety as her two friends suffered at the hands of the revellers. One person in the mob tried to stop the others from assaulting the trio.

One of the victims, who is identified as Gautam, claimed that the woman was his sister and had been slapped once. However, the police tried to brush the matter aside by saying that the woman was not attacked. It is also learnt that the victims did not report the assault. After the video went viral on social media, the police approached the victims and filed a case.

Describing it as a case of road rage, the police swung into action and arrested the attackers. Among the 10 arrested, three are said to be minors.
