RK Pays Rs 10 Crore Towards First Installment For Sadavarthi Lands

In accordance with the High Court verdict on the Sadavarthi Satram land sales, YSRCP's Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has paid the first installment of Rs 10 crore to the endowment commissioner.

Speaking to reporters, RK said he has paid the first installment as per the directions of the court and would pay the remaining Rs 17 crore in accordance with the procedure and time-frame laid out by the court. He also furnished the details of the payment to the endowments commissioner.

Sadavarti satram at Amaravati in Guntur district has 83.11 acres land in Mahabalipuram near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The value of land is estimated to be over Rs 1,000 crore, but it was auctioned for a mere Rs 22.4 crore. YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy approached the court claiming that the prime and highly valuable lands were sold for a pittance to benefit the TDP leaders, who bought the lands through proxies. The court has told the MLA that it would order the lands to be given to him if he gave Rs 5 crore in addition to the Rs 22 crore. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy readily agreed and the court had said that the first installment of Rs 10 crore should be paid within two weeks of the pronouncing of the orders and the remaining amount in two more weeks.
