YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday night reiterated that special category state was the panacea for all the ills afflicting the truncated Andhra Pradesh. Talking to non-resident Telugus through a live show on Sunday night, he said the State would get several incentives if it is given a special state status.

He slammed Chandrababu for accepting a special packages and added that Chandrbabu has gleefully thanked the Centre for giving a special package, which he said was not an equivalent of the State Category Status. Charging Chandrababu with watering down the special category status, YS Jagan said that his party would wage a relentless battle to achieve special state status. He said if needed, all the YSRCP MPs would resign from their positions to fight for protecting the interests of the State.

Special State Status

Chandrababu is lying on the issue. He is on record saying that special category status would not get us any benefits. He also thanked the Union Ministry for giving the special package. This is nothing but a betrayal of the State’s interests. We will intensify our struggles and will employ all agitational tactics to achieve our aims.

Reneging on poll-eve promises

People’s mandate is very important. Credibility is very important. While we cannot recall the candidates who have reneged on their poll promises the way the Americans do, we will intensify our struggle.

On taking Congress and Left along

We are trying to rope in and involve civil society organizations and political parties. It is only because we have taken along various organizations to ensure that our agitational programmes are a success. We will take along everyone to intensify the struggle.
