Rats feast on new-born

Guntur: In a shocking incident in Guntur government hospital, a new-born baby attacked by rats has died.

Chaavali Nag and Lakshmi hailing from Krishna Lanka village in Vijayawada, had admitted their new born in the hospital after he was diagnosed with health complications.

A week ago, the baby was attacked by rats and the hand, legs and left eye were nibbled away. The infant succumbed to the injured on Tuesday afternoon.

The parents have later questioned about it to the hospital staff and they replied carelessly, saying, “You have another son. Why are you worried?”

The parents say it’s the negligence of the hospital as four similar cases have been recorded in the past.
