Ragging Menace: Harassed By Senior, Gurukul School Girl Dies After Consuming Acid

Mancherial/Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a school girl studying in Luxettipet Gurukul school in Mancherial district succumbed to internal injuries after she consumed acid following alleged harassment by her senior.

Although, the incident happened on Saturday (September 9), it came light on Thursday.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Sainidhi. A class 8th student in Gurukul school, Luxettipet, Sainidhi and her friend Sirisha were facing harassment from their senior. Dejected over the ragging, Sainidhi and Sirisha consumed acid on Saturday. Their classmates noticed them and alerted the headmaster. The victims were immediately shifted to Luxettipet government hospital for treatment. After two hours of treatment, the victims were again shifted to Mancherial hosptial.

As their condition deteriorated, the doctors recommended the victims for better medical care in Hyderabad. They were admitted in Yashoda hospital in Secunderabad. After battling for life for five days, Sainidhi succumbed to internal injuries while Sirisha is said to be out of danger. Further details are awaited.
