Hyderabad: Botsa Satyanarayana has been selected for the post of a minister in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's cabinet. Satyanarayana has played a vital role in the victory of the YSRCP in all the nine Assembly constituencies in the district.

He won the Cheepurupalli constituency with 26,948 votes, defeating Kimidi Nagarjuna of the TDP.

Not just this, his effort for the party ensured victory of party Lok Sabha candidate B. Chandrasekhar who defeated former Union Minister and senior TDP leader P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju by a margin of 40,000 votes.

Earlier, he had worked as the as the Vizianagaram District Cooperative Central Bank president. He had also represented the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha seat.

After he death of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, he was associated with the Congress and went on to become the PCC president.

After bifurcation, in 2014, he contested unsuccessfully from Cheepurupalli on a Congress ticket and later went on to join the YSRCP.
