Hyderabad: Telangana Congress on Monday organised a massive rally to demand 12% reservation in jobs and education to the Muslims of the state. Accompanying scores of activists and Congress supporters, a group of Congress leaders marched on a rally titled "Walk For 12% Muslim Reservation" under the leadership of PCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, from Gandhi Bhavan to Abids General Post Office.

Raising slogans against the TRS Government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for cheating the Muslim community, party leaders accused the CM of failing to fulfil his party's major electoral promise.

The padayatra, organised by Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) Minorities Department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail, was attended by AICC Telangana Incharge R C Khuntia, AICC Minorities Department chairman Nadeem Javeed, AICC Secretaries Srinivasan Krishnan and Saleem Ahmed, Leader Of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, former PCC Presidents V Hanumantha Rao and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former Union minister Sarve Satyanarayana, Hyderabad DCC President M Anjan Kumar Yadav, Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav, Minorities Department Chairman Khaja Fakhruddin, TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, Kaleem Baba and other leaders and party workers.

KCR is trying to wash his hands off on the reservation promise and he should apologise for saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had agreed to increase the Muslim quota, Uttam asserted.
