Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj and IT minister Nara Lokesh, who is often trolled for his mistakes during speeches, was yet again caught in a fix, when he said he was ready to contest from any constituency if Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu ordered. Speaking to media here today, Lokesh, who has not contested directly in any elections till date said, "I am ready to contest from any constituency in the upcoming elections, as per party Chief Chandrababu's will."

The AP IT Minister soon corrected himself saying he would not contest from Hindupur, come what may. "I have the capacity to win from any constituency in the state. I will follow the party chief's orders in this respect. But, I will stay away from Hindupur constituency, where my uncle Nandamuri Bala Krishna is doing a great job. He will win with a grand majority once again," he said. Kindly do not try to create differences between two of us, he pleaded.

While the entire country is anticipating early elections this time around, Lokesh said the TDP would not agree for elections before December this year. In case the centre decides on early elections, we will not ally with the BJP, he clarified.

Against the backdrop of Telangana IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao's (KTR) meeting with PM Modi today, the AP minister condemned the centre's attitude towards the TDP. "The PM's office doesn't give appointments to Chief Ministers even after repeated visits to New Delhi; people are noticing the BJP's biased nature," he said. KTR reportedly pleaded with the PM for the centre's co-operation in setting up Bayyaram steel plant.
