Hyderabad: YSR Congress party MLA RK Roja lambasted leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for trying to undermine Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's popular public outreach programme, Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

Minister Lokesh has once again proved himself as the "Pappu" (dimwit) by taking credit for developmental activities carried out by the central government, she said.

Speaking to media at YSRCP central office here on Thursday, the MLA accused the TDP leaders of cheating people of the state. "The TDP leaders announced that the state government attracted investments to the tune of Rs 20 lakh crores at industrial summits. But the reports indicate that only Rs 16,900 have been collected," she said. TDP's yellow media is misleading people by projecting wrong numbers, she alleged. Chief Minister Chandrababu, who has appointed his supporters to the TTD Board, is responsible for damaging the reputation of the sacred shrine, she said. "Why did Chandrababu appoint Maharashtra BJP minister's wife to the Board?" she questioned.

After four years of romance with the BJP, Chandrababu removed Chief priest Ramana Deekshitulu from his post after he met BJP President Amit Shah in the temple, she said. Instead of making baseless allegations against YSRCP chief YS Jagan, the TDP leaders should prove those, she added.

Chandrababu has completely ignored the interests of the farmers of the state, Roja remarked, adding that the TDP government tried to deceive the farming community by using Bonds, which are good for nothing, she said. Chandrababu's loans is now worth Rs 87,000 crores, she said.

In 2014, Andhra Pradesh stood 9th in women's safety index, while Chandrababu's four years of governance made the state the fourth most dangerous place for women, she alleged. "TDP leader Sajja Bujji was proved guilty of cheating a girl named Gautami in the name of marriage, before murdering her. TDP leader Chintamaneni assaulted MRO Vanajakshi, who had tried to resist the TDP sand mafia," she recalled.

The student suicides in Narayana colleges, TDP leaders' harrassments on sarpanch Harini Kumari, Rajeshwari murder case etc have all been ignored by the Chandrababu government, the YSRCP MLA asserted. Chandrababu should be ashamed of a 9.4% increase in the violences against women every year in the state, she said.

After enjoying posts in the central government for four years, TDP MP CM Ramesh is suddenly pretending to fight for Kadapa Steel plant, Roja said, adding "Why did Chandrababu not speak a word on the steel plant while he was in power during 1995-2004?"

While Leader of Opposition YS Jagan has been fighting for achieving the Special Category Status (SCS) for AP, the TDP leaders have woken up after four years of romance with the BJP, she alleged. TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy openly confessed to lack of efforts on the steel plant by the ruling party, Roja reminded.
