Vijayawada: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP GVL Narasimha Rao accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of spreading false propaganda against the central government. Despite the Centre allocating huge funds for the welfare of Andhra Pradesh, the TDP leaders are trying to mislead people of the state, he alleged. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be appreciated for taking special interest in the state, the BJP leader remarked.

The AP government is neck-deep in corruption, Narasimha Rao alleged. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana initiative is aimed at providing affordable housing to the urban poor with a target of building 20 million affordable houses by 2022, the Rajya Sabha member said. Even though a total of 7,42,000 houses have been allotted under the Prime Minister's scheme, the Janma Bhoomi committee is demanding anywhere between Rs 30,000 to Rs 1 lakh from the beneficiaries, he alleged.
