Plot to plant bombs at 10 places in Hyd unravelled

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) achieved some progress in the Dilshuknagar twin blast case on Sunday. The NIA sleuths brought another Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist to Hyderabad on Sunday.

IM operatives Syed Maqbool and Imran Khan had already been brought to city from Tihar Jail and they were being interrogated on the third consecutive day on Sunday. On a tip off, the NIA teams arrested two suspects from the Old city. 

Maqbool is learnt to have disclosed some shocking information that they had planned terror attacks at 10 places in the city. They include, LB Nagar, Habsiguda, Abids, Chatanyapuri, Madina centre, Begum Bazar, Ranigunj, Tank Bund, Somajiguda, and Dilshuknagar. Maqbool reportedly told the investigating officers that they had sketched a plan to take the support of some terrorists who were arrested earlier.  The NIA sleuths took two local suspects along with Maqbool and Imran to the places where they proposed to plant the bombs and how they conducted recce. The NIA officials observed that it was an achievement to some extent in the twin blast case.

Ex-gratia paid to kin of 16 blast victims

Meanwhile, the State Government on Sunday said ex-gratia was paid to all the 16 families of the deceased, who were killed in the Dilshuknagar twin blasts. An amount of Rs 6 lakh was handed over to each of the family of 16 persons. Out of 116 people who were injured in the blast, 62 were given ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each, while 38 persons were given Rs 50,000 each, besides bearing the hospital expenditure. Food and other facilities have been provided to the families of those who were injured and undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the city.
