Petrol pumps' 9-hour shift from Tuesday

Hyderabad petrol dealers are in the process of regulating the timings of petrol pumps from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Currently, most petrol pumps are working round the clock, while some close by 10 pm or so.

According to petroleum dealers, the pumps will be opened between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm starting Tuesday. And they have decided to  close the pumps  after 8 pm on national highways. The dealers also made it clear that they will not open the bunks as long as their demand for an increase in commission is not met.
They called for this strike across the state to mount the pressure on the government to increase the commission given to them in the wake of the recent rise in the price of petrol.

SP View: With the dealers' strike and government's hike in fuel prices, the common man faces a lot of inconvenience. As the word of closure of petrol pumps spread, crowd started gathering at various petrol pumps in the city and outskirts to tank up.
