Nothing but lies and baseless allegations...Y.S Jagan

Hyderabad: The opposition leader of the Assembly Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday accused the ruling party of resorting to lies and untruth. Speaking in the context of the discussion related to the No Confidence motion, Y.S Jagan alleged that the Chief Minister and his ministers were continuously lying.

On the issue of the No Confidence motion itself, Y.S Jagan pointed out to the ruling party that even a single member of the house can propose the No Confidence motion and it is not necessary for the head of the opposition party to be a signatory to it. “The ruling party should be aware of the rules”, he said.

Y.S Jagan questioned about the eight members who had crossed over from the YSRCP to the TDP, who were conspicuously absent from the Assembly on Monday and accused the government of protecting them.

Y.S Jagan pointed out that as per procedure for the discussion on the No Confidence motion, the opposition party should be given the opportunity to speak first. The speaker however denied them this and let the ruling party speak first. Speaking first, the ruling party alleged lies and baseless allegations that were painful to listen to, Jagan said. Finally when he began to draw attention to exemplary precedence, his mike was cut off, revealed Jagan.

Y.S Jagan said that it pained him to listen to Chandrababu Naidu and TDP leaders’ allegations against him about the murder of Paritala Ravindra and added that they were all doing this only for political mileage. That is the reason they welcomed J.C Diwakar Reddy into their party as he too had made similar allegations in the past.

Alleging that the TDP leaders were making baseless allegations in order to blot his character, Y.S Jagan demanded that their comments should be expunged from the Assembly records. Jagan wanted to know how is it that those who were accused in the murder of Vangaveeti Ranga were now members of the Assembly, when Harirama Jogayya, a cabinet minister in the AP government wrote a book about how Ranga was deceived and murdered. “Why doesn’t the government talk about it when the accused themselves are sitting in the assembly”, he questioned.

Why did we press for the No Confidence motion?
“It is not for the sake of winning that we pressed for the No Confidence motion but due to the developments that were transpiring in state and the violation of democracy”, explained Jagan. He also challenged Chandrababu to make the eight members who crossed over to TDP, resign their membership to the house and face elections once more. The No Confidence motion is also to get these members to face disqualification, he said.

Y.S Jagan accused the government of tempting them with money earned through corruption and demanded that a whip should be issued to disqualify the members.
