Ongole: Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is once again facing the heat from women’s organisations who demanded that he should be booked under Nirbhaya Act.

A round table conference was held by the organisations at LGB Bhavan under the aegis of AIDWA, here in the district headquarters on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, AIDWA district president U Aadhilakshmi alleged that the director's recently released movie God Sex and Truth has shown women in poor light.

Speakers at the conference took an oath to intensify their agitation until Ram Gopal Varma is arrested. They also demanded that the chairperson of women’s commission too should take part in the protest programme.

Speaking to media persons, AIDWA state secretary P Padma said that the director tends to produce movies that belittled Indian culture. It may be recalled that RGV's flick GST has created a storm in the country. The movie was screened through a web portal across the country. This angered some sections of society in the Telugu states as the movie featured porn star Mia Malkova. During a television debate, Ram Gopal Varma allegedly insulted a Hyderabad-based social activist while defending his project. A fortnight ago, Ram Gopal Varma was summoned by the Hyderabad police after a case had been registered against him regarding the issue.
