Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director behind the upcoming film 'Spirit' starring Prabhas has revealed that the actor had offered him a Hollywood remake project before he started working on Animal.

In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Vanga shared interesting details. He said that during the pandemic, Prabhas approached him and asked if he was interested in directing a Hollywood remake. However, Vanga declined the offer, stating that he preferred an original idea rather than a remake.

"Prabhas asked me if I was interested in directing a Hollywood remake. I said that I feel like a Hollywood remake isn't for me. I told him that creating something original would suit him better than remaking," Vanga explained.

The director went on to say that it was only later when he was writing the script for Animal, that he came up with the idea for Spirit and pitched it to Prabhas, who loved the story and character.

"The pandemic continued for quite a while, and during that time, I was working on Animal. Then, out of the blue, I had a brilliant idea. I immediately contacted him, met him, and shared it with him. I explained the title, the concept, and the character. Prabhas loved the story, and that same story became Spirit," he added.

Vanga also provided an update on the progress of Spirit, revealing that he has completed about 60% of the script and the film is expected to be out for public by November or December 2024.

When asked about his thoughts on Prabhas as an actor, Vanga praised the Baahubali star's strengths. "Prabhas is known for his reactive acting. His fans and the audience adore his responses on screen," Vanga said. He said Prabhas has a special way of acting that creates exciting scenes, which will suit the character in Spirit perfectly.
