Hyderabad: Former minister KTR expressed his outrage and dissatisfaction over the US court's recent decision to drop criminal charges in the tragic case of Jaahnavi Kandula, a young Indian student who was killed in an automobile accident involving a Seattle police officer. KTR's response follows escalating controversy and outrage over the incident, sparked by the officer's insensitive comments caught on the bodycam video.

KTR expressed his shock via Twitter, calling the absence of charges "disgraceful & absolutely unacceptable." He insisted that the Indian and American governments take steps to guarantee justice for Jaahnavi's family. KTR demanded an independent investigation into the incident and urged the American ambassador to India to get involved in the situation.

When Jaahnavi Kandula, a 23-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh, was crossing the street, Seattle police officer Kevin Dave's patrol car struck and killed her, throwing her almost a hundred feet away. The officer was driving over 110 mph in a 40 mph zone, according to the preliminary investigation, which led to the accident. Despite this, the concerned officer has not been charged with any crimes
