All Is Well In Telangana, Claim Health Officials As COVID Cases Climb

Telangana is one of the states which is witnessing an increase in the number of coronavirus cases from the last few weeks. But the health officials of Telangana are saying that all is well in the state and there is no reason for fear or panic. The state government has been stressing many times that there is no need to worry. 

According to reports, very few people infected with coronavirus have been hospitalised and it amounts to around 5 to 6 percent. The government claims that the fatality rate is also low. In a period of one year, a total of 1824 people have died due to coronavirus in Telangana which means 140 people every month since March, last year.

Director of Health Services Dr G. Srinivasa Rao has made it clear that everyone should be careful and the days ahead would be dark as the second wave is turning out to be fatal even in cases of patients with no co-morbidities. He said that everyone has to follow physical distance and should avoid roaming around hot spots.

On Sunday morning, Telangana has an active caseload of 37,037, of which 12,881 are undergoing treatment in hospitals and 24,156 are in either home or institutional quarantine.

According to the latest reports, more than 29.52 lakh vaccines have been administered. In the phase 2 vaccination drive, those who are above 45 years of age have received 21.5 lakh first doses and 1.1 lakh second doses so far. The rest of the 6.93 lakh doses were administered to healthcare workers and frontline warriors in phase 1.
