IPL 2021: Why Chris Woakes Left Delhi Capitals

15 Sep, 2021 12:03 IST|Sakshi Post

Woakes, who plays for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, has withdrawn from the famous T20 tournament, along with other England players Jonny Bairstow (Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Dawid Malan (Punjab Kings).

I had no idea my selection for the World Cup team was going to happen, especially since it happened only a few months ago. The IPL has been postponed until the end of the summer.

It would have been too much in a short period of time with the World Cup and the Ashes. "I would have liked to play in the IPL, but something has to give," explained Woakes.
