After the country faced issues with a shortage in vaccine doses and other medical facilities, the pace of the Covid19 immunization drive in India has finally gone back up. It is a moment of slight relief for the country as the daily number of people receiving the dose has increased tremendously.
On Sunday (June 27), Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on his monthly radio program, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ during which he applauded everyone who is working tirelessly and vaccinating citizens at a record-breaking pace. the total as of now is 34 crore.
For the past few days, the daily administered number for the doses of the vaccine has seen an increase. The number has been high and the PM wishes that it remains that way. The speed of vaccination is increasing. Let us try to maintain this pace, said the PM in a statement. Not just this, to further ensure the availability of vaccines for all, the central government is going all out.
Apart from local vaccines and those that received EUA in India, the country is also trying for other foreign vaccines like Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna. If these get added to the list, the drive will further see a boost.
The state-wise numbers have been going good. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra have administered more than 50 lakh first doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group 18-44 years.
Let's take a look at the cumulative vaccine doses administered to the 18-44 years age group till now. This is the state-wise list.
